Katie received her BA (2006) from the George Washington University in Archaeology and MA (2008) from the University of Arizona in Classical Archaeology, and is currently a PhD candidate in Classical Archaeology in the Department of Classics at Cornell University. She was a Fulbright student scholar at the Cypriot American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) in Nicosia, Cyprus in 2012-2013. She spent her time there collecting data for her dissertation on polity-formation and landscape change in south-central Iron Age Cyprus. Her main research interests include social theory, paleoenvironmental studies, historiography, and landscapes and built environments. In addition to fieldwork in Cyprus, she has excavated in Italy, Jordan and Armenia.
